You know Mike, I never considered we need a donor for anything to go anywhere..... The only people I can think of are lxry yot and poolboy-'88. I think there is another guy on LoL as well. Also, the last kit I ever heard of was sold by SVPU a couple of years ago to an unnamed person who might have been a forum member :crossed:

Can you get in touch with him? We could pay him for his help, make it worth his while and insure his kit.
I think what I said came out misleading. The guy I know has a kit e got off a car and had installed on his. I appologize if there was any confusion.
I could spend the $1,000 by mid summer like around June. I need to spend $600 on tires first.

Who will own the molds? Will your guy be able to produce and sell them also? It would be nice if the initial buyers would have equal ownership of the molds and exclusive rights to production...
It would be nice, but I don't see that happening.

:soapbox: I’m going to chime in here on pre-production costs up front and the lack of business owners’ credibility.
This IS NOT directed at the man in question presently, but just a heads up to those who are getting ready to plunk down your hard earned bacon.
I was involved in a very similar deal thru www.turboford.org That deal involved D&D Motorsports, you have seen their adds in MM&FF rags they offer suspension stuff and engines/components for Mustangs.
The deal was a group of us got together with the Turboford board owner and struck a deal with D&D to make the SVO owners a set of tubular front LCA as a replacement for our aging factory units that were unserviceable (made that way from the Fact. THANKS FORD!). We sent the owner of D&D the funds he requested as set-up/ tooling costs. Read about it here D&D Fiasco
As of this date there are NO parts forthcoming, and I believe litigation is slated for the next step. It's been 3 years coming (as of the 12 or so of this month) and still nothing.
I for one would like a NICE kit for my LSC, but not at the potential PITA that I have already experienced. I am not pissing on anyone’s parade; I just am VERY leery now, as anyone of you would be as well if in my position. Please don't take my word for it, go read the thread and do a search over there. Ask Paul as well he's an SVO guy too.
Again I AM NOT SAYING the guy who may potentially be able to get the kit re-made is ANYTHING like that jackass at D&D, just food for thought. :chin:
I'll climb down now :soapbox:

.As it sits, "we" and I use that term collectively, are at the mercy of said business man/company. contracts are made to be broken, that why they invented Lawyers! Unfortunately you just have to hope for a good old fashioned God fearing HONEST guy to deal with and have a leap of faith. Unless you have a lawyer friend who does pro-bono for kicks its hand over whatever the company wants and wait. I WILL buy a body kit WHEN completed, but WILL NOT put up a dime up front personally. I know that is not what you want to hear, but that's my position, I have a car that sits on jackstands (with over 15k in it already) waiting for parts and a wife that mentions said car when the spirit moves her, albeit she understands it's out of my hands it still wrankles us both. I'm sorry if you feel my comments thus far have not been constructive, but I know those hard feelings first hand and wouldn't want someone else to get the dirty end if I can help them avoid it.
Being that you are local to the company in question may well be a great help, I personally would get really, really familiar with the guy and be a constant reminder of the vested interest at hand. I know that I'm probably telling you something that you have already thought of, but from my own past experience it bears repeating. The thing that may have hampered the SVO/D&D deal was the distance involved from the guy who set it up and the owner of D&D. One being in Colorado and the other in So.Cal. You being local will be a huge advantage.

I wasn't snapping at you. Far from it, man. I think you raise valid concerns.
Understand, everybody, that we are collectively approaching Professional Fiberglass to make these kits. I will coordinate the efforts with your input. Example: I have asked if we can get them made from ABS plastic (answer pending). There is certainly risk involved. I can't define that risk specifically for you now, but I will continue to keep you informed along the way. I can't make any guarantee beyond that. We are entering into a good faith deal with Professional Fiberglass, a business that has been operating in Brighton, MI for over 25 years.
