Im planning on adding a gt40 intake (explorer) lower ported, GT40 heads, 65 mm TB, and shorty headers for now. Anyone have any experience with these mods and speed density? I really dont want to spend on a Mass Air conversion if I dont have to for those mods.

Thanks

JM

Your build almost exactly describes the mods on "Old Blue". With the stock cam and injectors she runs fine (on 87 octane) with no problems.

Ran my car for a few years with AFR 165s, Trick Flow intake, 1.7 rockers and a 70mm TB.
Literally drove it all over the country with zero issues.

When the time comes to do Mass Air, make certain you get the Mark VII specific swap instructions from one of us.

Phase one (AFR 165 heads and nothing else) MEASURED 50 RWHP over stock, just as advertized. Phase two (JBA headers, GT40 intake and 65mm TB) not yet dynoed but noticeable improvement on the road. All together almost as much fun as the suspension mod package.

nice car same set up as mine I have the silver LSC, same wheels 315's in back, I like my mods but it could use a A/F tune about all you can do to SD other than timing. but there is difference, AFR 165's i can only wish. good luck with your project.

Thanks! I wish I could get some AFR's also, maybe in the near future. For now some junkyard GT40 irons are alright.
