Those are the crash sensors for the SRS.

No, I don't recall any. I think they work like accelerometers or what ever and sense a sudden extreme change in motion Like an impact, to activate the Air Bag in your Steering wheel.

I think all the wiring routes back to the Diagnostic Assembly located above the glove box behind the heater duct.

thx for reply so i guess i dont have to wire them up rite away to get the car running again unless there is some kind of safty override that the car wont run unless they are wired ????

Two things
The devices are actually a steel ball and magnet that holds the ball in the back position...impact releases the ball, and when it hits the front make electrical contact and triggers the air bag - and all 3 have to go off.

I uplugged them, cut the wires at the firewall, removed the SRS computer in the dash...all that is left now is to remove the error light.

They are obviously not tied to the ignition, as the car runs fine.

Two issues, one safety and one legal.

Safety: make sure the wiring without the sensor is prevented from completing a circuit (eg. cut wires) and thus giving you an unexpected air bag deployment.

Legal: your insurance company might question the inoperative airbag system should you have an accident.

I think I remember something about a back up power supply behind the dash. A wrong move can fire the airbag. I would recommend a good disassembly plan to disable or repair the system.

I can't even find it in my Manual again.
